Very disappointing experience at Galicia Tapas Restaurant in Croydon. I visited this restaurant on 8 March 2026 with my children expecting a pleasant family dinner. Unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered drinks and starters while waiting for the main meals. The restaurant initially served bread, but when we asked for more bread we were told that there was none available. A waiter suggested that if we could find bread nearby we could bring it back. I went to a nearby shop and bought bread so that we could eat the food we had ordered. When I returned, the manager who introduced himself as “Philip” refused to allow the bread to be used and spoke to me in a rude and dismissive way. This was very uncomfortable, especially with children present. Because of this situation we decided to cancel our main meals and asked to pay only for the drinks and starters we had consumed. However, the first bill presented included items that we had not eaten. Only after I challenged this was the bill corrected. The final bill also included a 10% service charge despite the poor service and the unpleasant experience. I have photographs of both receipts showing the incorrect bill and the corrected bill. Customers should not be treated this way and certainly should not be presented with a bill for items they did not consume. Very disappointing management and customer service.
